Do you feel like you are in a bottom-less pit, the more you work hard, the less hopeful you feel about the future?
While you see people, less intelligent and educated than you are, succeeding you feel more insecure about yourself.
No amount of Affirmations (hard-to-believe declarative statements) seems to be working.
I was exactly in that state in September 2009.
My name is Jose O. Paclibare, a former biological researcher based in the Philippines. I received my Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Canada’s Simon Fraser University. I’m also a PhD candidate in the Netherlands. Academically well equipped but knew nothing about business.
In September 2009, I was suffering from information overload and broke.
Three years earlier I left my secure and comfortable job of 22 years in the government to pursue my dream to learn entrepreneurship so that I can teach it to others someday. When I was leaving my job, my office mate told me– “Why are you going into business? You know nothing about business!” But that was exactly the reason why I was going into business–I knew nothing about it!
My first attempt was selling juice from Himalayas. It was a classic case of ignorance on fire, earning one rejection after another from family, friends and complete strangers.
When I went into the Internet, I was afraid gurus would take advantage of my ignorance and manipulate me into endlessly buying their stuff. So I simply studied free information. But the more I read the more confused I became. I was eventually persuaded to buy my first online money making system from a guru. I did everything I was told. I bought other products he recommended. After working for few weeks, I had zero sales.
That scenario was repeated few more times with other gurus and their various money making systems.
One time I asked a guru to teach me Internet Marketing but he said he could not because it is a “long-drawn process”. He did not even care to give me some practical advice how to get started right. He successfully made me buy his stuff and that was all he cared about.
I never wanted to return to my job. But I did not have any idea when and how I would breakthrough in business either. Countless times during nighttime I would look to the heavens and tell God how I felt.
Providentially, an Australian friend recommended to me a simple mental exercise which he and his family found effective. (It is a simple 8 minute video.)
I tried it and in just few seconds, I felt a surge of inner peace.
Within three days, a Christian, one of the pioneers of Internet Marketing took me as his paid trainee. It was a rare opportunity indeed because he did not only help me solve my money problem but also taught me the basics of Internet Marketing!
Jose is a well educated, highly intelligent person with a great heart. I enjoy being his friend and I suspect you will too.
